Welcome to France during the reign of King Louis XV. The air buzzes with excitement as a grand festival is about to begin in the luxurious gardens of Versailles. You and your rival pastry chefs have been invited to create delicious pastries for the King's noble guests in La Pâtisserie Rococo, a one-to-five-player game designed by Louis and Stefan Malz of the Rococo Deluxe design team.
In this captivating game of culinary mastery, players take on the role of ambitious pâtissiers managing their pastry chefs and apprentices. With nine optional actions to choose from, players can:
- Acquire new recipes and purchase essential ingredients like butter, sugar, and flour.
- Employ skilled pastry chefs to add decorative flair to their creations and hire staff with powerful bonus abilities.
- Bake stunning pastries to sell for profit or present to noble judges to gain prestige.
- Use servers to enhance presentations or appoint noble hosts to oversee tables, earning additional prestige.
- Strategically dismiss staff to secure extra cash for their business.
The winner is the pâtissier who earns the most prestige, delivering a satisfying challenge for your customers and hours of replayability.
Louis & Stefan Malz live in Germany and have been designing games as a father-and-son team since 2008. When Rococo first released in 2013, it was nominated for the Kennerspiel des Jahres. They have designed over eight games and expansions together. Rococo Deluxe was a collaboration between the two and is also published by Eagle-Gryphon Games.
