Bohemians: Tales From Montmartre
The expansion introduces new Muse cards, expanding the theme of inspiration with a strong focus on animal companions—quiet but meaningful presences in the lives of artists. Among them are Fritz, a secretive mouse; Constance, a patient cat observer; and Tulsi, a wandering dog. These Muses encourage players to adapt their creative paths as the game unfolds.
Tales from Montmartre also expands the Hardship deck, highlighting the darker side of artistic life. Cards such as Depression, Paranoia, and Panic Attack interfere with key phases of a round forcing players to make difficult decisions under pressure.
The most significant addition is the Event deck, which introduces a new core mechanic to the game. At the start of each round, one Event card is revealed, and its effect applies for the entire round, shaping the shared conditions for all players. Rather than merely restricting play, Events often open new and unexpected tactical opportunities. Examples include A Sunny Day in Montmartre, Riots in the Streets, and The World’s Fair 1889, each giving the round a distinct narrative and strategic context.
